According to Elon Musk, the Starlink mini dish will roll out in a few months.
Elon Musk recently teased the capabilities of SpaceX’s Starlink mini dish on X. The SpaceX CEO shared that the Starlink mini dish took less than 5 minutes to set up and would be more affordable than SpaceX’s standard dish.
“This product will change the world…About half the price of the standard dish to buy and monthly subscription, but you can still watch multiple 4k video streams simultaneously,” Elon Musk said on X.
The United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the Starlink mini dish last year. According to SpaceX’s FCC application, the Starlink mini dish’s measurements are 11.4 inches by 9.8 inches, making it very portable. Elon Musk noted that the Starlink mini dish could easily fit in a backpack.
In May, SpaceX announced it would allow monthly installments for Starlink’s satellite dishes, making them more affordable for customers. The Starlink mini dish is expected to cost half the price of a standard dish which is usually $599. So the Starlink mini dish might cost around $250. Monthly installments for the Starlink mini would be very affordable if it starts at $250.
SpaceX recently introduced significant discounts for its new V4 Starlink dish, dropping the price to as low as $ 299 for new users in the United States. If similar discounts were to be offered for the Starlink mini dish, it could potentially be even more affordable than the estimated price of $250.
