The Lufthansa Group has partnered with Starlink to bring Starlink free in‑flight internet to its entire fleet of around 850 aircraft starting in the second half of 2026, with complete rollout by 2029. The satellite broadband service will offer high‑speed, low‑latency connectivity that passengers can use for streaming, work, and communication, free for status and Travel ID users across all cabin classes, marking a major advancement in global inflight internet.

During a 5,200-mile journey from Montana to Alaska in vintage Model A trucks, a family stayed connected using Starlink Mini connectivity, enabling them to handle business communication, stay in touch with family, and plan logistics even in remote regions where cellular service was unavailable. Portable satellite broadband made the adventure both connected and worry-free.

Starlink free in-flight Wi-Fi is now available across about 120 Qatar Airways widebody aircraft, offering passengers ultra-high-speed internet access that often surpasses home broadband performance. The airline has become the first globally to equip Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners with Starlink and completed comprehensive rollouts on Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 fleets. Since October 2024, more than 11 million passengers have used the complimentary service, demonstrating Starlink’s growing impact on global in-flight connectivity.

Starlink is providing free broadband internet service in Venezuela through February 3, 2026, applying service credits to both active and inactive users to ensure continued connectivity amid infrastructure disruptions. The satellite-based service operates independently of ground networks, enabling resilient internet access in areas where traditional systems may be compromised. This temporary program highlights the role of satellite broadband as a connectivity lifeline during emergencies and political instability.

In 2025, SpaceX executed a record-breaking launch cadence, flying more than 120 Falcon 9 missions dedicated to expanding the Starlink satellite constellation. These deployments added over 270 Tbps of new network capacity, enabling Starlink to support a rapidly growing global user base of over 9 million subscribers and expand broadband access across underserved regions. The achievements reflect SpaceX’s continued leadership in satellite internet and launch operations.
