SpaceX successfully launched the KF-02 mission for Amazon’s Project Kuiper on August 11, 2025, from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
This mission marked the second in a series of three Falcon 9 launches designated to deploy satellites for Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite internet constellation. A total of 24 Kuiper internet satellites were sent into orbit.
After a series of delays—four postponements due to weather and technical issues—the mission finally lifted off successfully at 8:35 a.m. EDT (12:35 UTC) on August 11.
The Falcon 9’s first stage booster, identified as B1091—a repurposed Falcon Heavy center core—was used for the first time in this mission. It returned post-launch and safely landed on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas stationed in the Atlantic.
This launch continues the rollout of Amazon's global high-speed internet infrastructure via the Project Kuiper mega-constellation.
