Kyivstar’s Starlink Direct to Cell adoption has achieved a major milestone in Ukraine, registering more than 3 million users since its launch in November 2025. The satellite-to-mobile service, powered by SpaceX’s Starlink technology, has delivered over 1.2 million SMS messages, providing essential communication in regions where terrestrial coverage is unavailable. The service — accessible at no additional cost for many 4G subscribers — highlights the growing importance of satellite integration in strengthening national connectivity and digital resilience.

Starlink Direct to Cell operates the largest satellite-to-mobile constellation in the world, delivering data, voice, video and messaging to mobile dead zones across 5 continents. Since first activating service earlier this year, more than 8M people and counting have relied on Starlink Direct to Cell to stay connected when terrestrial service is unavailable.
